The most important factor for you to consider in selecting a lawyer for an appeal or trial brief is the lawyer’s skill at legal writing. I encourage you to review the following three sample appellate briefs.
The Respondent’s Brief Opposing Certiorari was filed in the U.S. Supreme Court. In the Supreme Court brief, I argued that an investor created a genuine factual dispute over whether she met the statute of limitations for securities fraud.
The Appellant’s Brief was filed in the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District. I argued that the trial court erred in denying the creation of a private road by necessity.
The second Respondent’s Brief also was filed in the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District. I argued that a judgment for contempt and an award of attorney’s fees should be affirmed.
