Missouri Appellate, Business Law and Estate Planning Attorney
Preeminent-rated St. Louis Metro Area lawyer with more than 30 years of experience
Daniel R. Schramm, L.L.C. is my solo practice based in Chesterfield, Missouri. Since 1978, I have worked to develop an intimate knowledge of the law, high-quality oral and written communication skills, and the finely-tuned powers of persuasion that are requirements for the successful practice of appellate law in Missouri.
These skills are also vital to the practice of business law and estate planning. With a focus on comprehensive planning for both short- and long-terms, I assist business owners in structuring and starting up their enterprises. For businesses, individuals and families, I advise on estate plans, including wills and trusts, that protect assets for future generations.
Experienced in the art of appellate advocacy
I am passionate about the law and passionate about lending my experience to those in need, whether they are other attorneys, clients, or my law school and business school students. For more than twelve years, I have been an adjunct professor for the Moot Court Program at Saint Louis University School of Law, teaching law students the art of appellate advocacy. Five of my student appeals teams qualified to compete in the National Moot Court Competition final rounds in New York City. Two of those teams made it to the National Semi-Finals, and one team made it to the Quarter-Finals.
Experienced in the art of persuasion
I am deeply committed to the art of effective and persuasive communication, in either oral or written form. Licensed to practice before all Missouri appellate courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, I assist trial lawyers and individual clients with written briefs and oral arguments for Missouri appellate cases in both state and federal courts.
I am also licensed to practice appellate law before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
See Reported Cases for a list of some of my successful Missouri appellate decisions and see Sample Briefs for two examples of my legal writing — a Respondent’s Brief Opposing Certiorari filed in the U.S. Supreme Court and an Appellant’s Brief filed in the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District.
Experienced in helping Missouri trial lawyers
I also help trial lawyers on a contract basis with legal research projects, motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, motions in limine, Daubert motions and other pre-trial and post-trial issues.
Knowledge. Communication. Persuasion.
